He joined TNB Research Sdn Bhd as a researcher from 2009. He became the Technical Expert (Switchgear) there in 2017, leading high impact research projects related to switchgear design, diagnostic and management. In 2021, he decided to spread his wings and jointly found SDT Power Consultancy and SDT Power Engineering Sdn Bhd with his partners. He’s currently serving as a Principal Consultant in both companies.He has been highly involved in research, training and consultancy services particularly on medium voltage switchgear diagnostic testing and related research projects both in Malaysia and internationally. Till date, he has been involved in 23 research projects in various capacities (lead, technical advisor) with a total project value of more than RM15.0 million. He also published more than 17 technical papers in international and national engineering journals and conferences as main author/co-author. Among his achievements during his career include:1. Leading the team inventing the Standardised RMU Handle, which has been fully adopted by TNB Distribution Network Division (distributed to more than 1000 operational staff) 2. Part of the consultancy team developing the condition-based maintenance methodology for substation and network equipment in EVNHCMC (Vietnam) which has been fully implemented by the client.
