With a background in accounting, I have had the opportunity to utilise my skills across a variety of roles and projects in the community sector. This work has been centred upon empowering culturally diverse women and youth by equipping them with the language and skills to make informed decisions, addressing the challenges and strengths at a local, state, and federal level and co-designing innovative and culturally appropriate initiatives to address issues. During my studies at the Queensland University of Technology, I co-founded the QUT Pasifika Student Association (QUTPA) and sat as the first President. I have continued to serve community, wearing several leis, as the President of the Pasifika Women’s Alliance (2019-2022), member of the Pacific Islands Council of QLD (2021-2022), member of the Pacific Climate Warriors QLD team, National Melanesian Steering Committee NZ and representative on numerous advisory groups to advocate for Pacific communities. The genuine relationships I have formed continue to meaningfully inform my work and to better understand that resistance is not a one lane highway.
