No degree or course could offer me better conditions for learning the skills needed to collect, analyse and process large quantities of data. In addition to monthly data and metadata packages deliverables to Eurostat and the UN my team produces around 15 custom data sets for our main users (ministries etc.), a first release news article and 23 tables in the SiStat Database. In our regular production processes and data quality assurance procedures we use powerful IT tools such as specialised Intrastat and ITGS IT solutions, ORACLE database tools, MS Access, MS Excel, SAS and more recently Power BI.My first assignment after the promotion was to train a junior teammate and gradually pass on some of themonthly assignments to her. This allowed me to dedicate more of my time to responsibilities like:• Development of new data quality assurance procedures and optimization of regular productionprocesses.• Preparation of a Power BI report on trade with energy products• Coordination of the preparation of a proposal for a new Eurostat co-financed grant project, which I amnow leading. My role is mainly coordinative and administrative, but I am also responsible for some ofthe main assignments, most notably analysis of Microdata exchange data (received from other EUMS) and their integration into our non-response estimations procedure.
