I was required to break off-diary political stories, ideally setting the agenda for the week ahead. I did this successfully through, for example, pre-empting policy announcements and contact work. At one point a damning Auditor-General’s draft report on MPs’ spending was leaked to me. The resulting story shaped the news agenda for months. -
