I worked as a PhD candidate in the field of Byzantine history at the history department of the Radboud University, Nijmegen. The working title of my dissertation is 'Moving Monks: Discourses on (Im)mobility in Middle-Byzantine Saints' Lives'. In addition to research, I have taught seminars and I gave guest lectures in ancient and medieval history.

H-Net is an international interdisciplinary organization of scholars and teachers dedicated to developing the enormous educational potential of the Internet and the World Wide Web. The edited networks publish peer reviewed essays, multimedia materials, and discussions for colleagues and the interested public. As a review editor for the H-Medieval network I actively search for potential future reviewers, commission reviews of recent publications within the field of medieval studies, guide reviewers through the reviewing process and edit reviews according to the standards and guidelines of H-Net.

I participated in a collaborative project with a conservation student to carry out art historical and technical research of a previously unstudied 17th century painting portraying the English playwright Francis Beaumont from the Knole House collection. As well as establishing firmer dating and provenance for the painting, the aim of the project was to shed light on the history of several physical changes of the object and the socio-historical context since its acquisition at Knole House.
