Water Engineer
CurrentPrincipal Roles1. Construction or rehabilitation of water networks, gravity flow systems,wells or boreholes.2. Construction or rehabilitation of rain water harvesting systems.3. Implementation of latrines, handwashing stations or other sanitationfacilities.4. Hygiene promotion and education.5. Creation and training of management structures.6. Running cholera prevention campaigns.7. Water treatment.8. Water trucking and emergency water supply.9. Water provision for irrigation.10. Carrying out of assessments and post-implementation monitoring.11. Geophysical analysis.12. Capacity building of partners.13. Monitoring of sub-contractor work.14. Ensure appropriate design, construction and implementation of WASHhardware according to technical standards, as well as proper maintenanceand use of WASH equipment.15. Develop and ensure the use of appropriate techniques and materials for hygiene promotion and training.16. Manage the program budget through the passing of timely orders, thepreparation of monthly forecasts and the monitoring of expenditure.17. Track the progress of engineering activities, ensure the collecting of program indicators and provide on-time internal status reports and external donor reports.18. Identify and monitor risks, constraints or escalating issues, and inform thehierarchy accordingly.19. Analyze and report on the evolving humanitarian needs and provide clearrecommendations for interventions.20.Participate in the development of new proposals and the Operation BlessingInternational (OBI) annual country strategy.
