Chief Financial Accountant
CurrentResponsibilities: Coordinate monthly closing process and reconciliation of general ledger accounts and reporting to ensure compliance with appropriate IFRS standards and regulatory requirements. Reviews accounts payables and receivables and weekly check runs and reconciles. Extensive travel to company subsidiaries for internal audit. Preparation of Final Financial reports, ensuring their accuracy for head office, Uganda and Tanzania branches Preparation of Daily Bank reports for head office and branches Responsible to check and reconcile respective bank statements on a monthly and on daily basis. Initiating Online payments/transfer to Suppliers, branch accounts and staff payments. Verification of supplier payments before approval. Preparation of payroll and printing pay slips for staff members. Preparations of timely and accurate monthly/quarterly management reports for Head office and Uganda and Tanzania Branch. Coordinate both external and internal audits and ensure effective implementation of audit recommendations, making of final accounts for Head office and branches Ensuring timely reconciling of petty cash for all Branches. Training interns and branch staffs on posting transactions in the accounting system and ensures financial transactions are properly recorded and entered into the computerized accounting systems Creating an update fixed asset register. Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports to ensure accuracy for head office and Uganda and Tanzania braches Following up on annual compliance certificate and filing Company and individual returns annually. Preparing and managing SACCO accounts. Handling statutory deductions and tax payments while observing the stipulated deadline dates of submission i.e taxes, Income tax, VAT, PAYE, Withholding tax, NHIF, NSSF NITA levies . Costing of overseas and local purchases and receiving GRVs in the system.
