I am an independent communications consultant focused on media relations. I specialize in media training and crisis communications training. When I teach media strategies and skills, my approach is always positive and constructive. My clients learn to be confident and in control. I was a journalist for many years. I worked as a reporter, producer and host on a variety of national news and current affairs programs such as CBC Television's The Journal, Midday, Venture, Marketplace and Money$worth. My extensive journalism background gives me an insider perspective. I know how the media works and how journalists think.I believe in research and understanding my clients and their particular needs. I look at the big picture, but I also drill down to the details to leave nothing to chance. I help my clients develop media strategies that reap rewards and deal with crises in a way that builds trust. I provide strategic counsel on reputation issues and prepare spokespersons to shine in the media spotlight. And, if my clients need help in another language, I speak four - English, French, Spanish and Croatian.In the public sector, I have worked with government, non-profits and the research and scientific communities.
