The laboratory of Dr. Myles Brown, Medical Oncology, Dana Farber Cancer Institute• Research projects focused on determining the mechanisms underlying endocrine resistance in ovarian cancer and additional project focused on characterizing the role of the AR splice variant ARv7 in castration resistant prostate cancer. First author manuscripts detailing these research projects are currently in preparation. • Secured independent funding T32DK007529: Endocrinology (~$93,660) and Department of Defense Prostate Cancer Research Program Early Investigator Research Award (~$348,000). Contributed to Department of Defense Ovarian Cancer Research Program Pilot Award (~$437,000). • Directly supervised and mentored two research technicians. • Authored one first author review article and contributed to one research publication in Cancer Cell.• Laboratory safety officer role managing and overseeing that the lab is compliant with institutional laboratory safety regulations and chemical waste management.

The laboratory of Julie Kim PhD, Division of Reproductive Science in Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology- Determined the effects of hyperactive Akt signaling on the transcriptional function of Progesterone Receptor B in endometrial cancer.- Developed expertise in cancer biology and uterine biology.- Established and adapted new technical protocols implemented in the lab such as ChIP-Mass Spectrometry and Immunohistochemistry.- Developed expertise in mouse colony management, genotyping, simple surgical procedures, oral gavage, and injections.- Published one first author research publication in Oncogene, one first author review article, and contributed to two other research publications.- Secured Carcinogenesis training grant funding (~$70,000) and a Malkin Scholars institutional research award ($9,000).

- Awarded university’s internal UROP summer biomedical fellowship to perform undergraduate research project, “Characterization of Transcription Partners of SIP1.” SIP1 is a transcription factor implicated in the pathogenesis of Hirschsprung’s disease.- Performed a comprehensive yeast two-hybrid screen to identify candidate SIP1- interacting proteins. This analysis led to the identification of 32 SIP1 binding partner candidates.- Microbial Techniques employed: yeast two-hybrid screen, mini and midi DNA prep, PCR, restriction enzyme digest, DNA ligation, bacterial electroporation, gel electrophoresis, and gel purification.
