About Ire Tsui
Ire Tsui is a design writer, editor and researcher, based in Hong Kong. Trained as a designer, researcher and anthropologist, worked in the media publishing industry for more than 10 years. Freelance writing for the Initium, COBO Social, Elle Decoration HK ; Founder of design research studio, Talking Hands Ltd. Co-founder and Head of Communications at Enable Foundation - social design collective, education charity. Ire Tsui graduated with an honourable degree in Design from the School of Design, Hong Kong Polytechnic University. This followed by a Master of Arts postgraduate degree in Anthropology from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Ire Tsui has worked in several design and lifestyle titles, including CREAM, MING, Ming Pao Weekly Magazine and the Initium.From 2007 to 2015, Ire Tsui has worked in Mingpao Weekly, a lifestyle and culture magazine based in Hong Kong. As the Managing Editor of the magazine, besides overseeing the editorial workflow, she was responsible for the content and strategies for Design and Lifestyle section. The work included leading a group of design reporters/editors, producing a series of editorial content, researches, interviews, layout designs and video shootings, the topics covered a wide range of creative content on design, architecture, city planning, fashion, arts and cultural topics. The collaboration also extended to various overseas reportage and special editorial projects, by working closely with various overseas international brands, i.e. Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Armani, Fendi, Cassina, Flos, Kartell, Moooi, Gaggenau, Tom Dixon, Muji, Loveramics... and local cultural institutions, ie.
