Kamarajar Port ( Formally Known as Ennore Port Ltd) as a Landlord port would create and retain the basic infrastructure and carry out its regulatory function. Development, operation & management of cargo terminals to handle dry/ liquid bulk cargo and would be concessioned to private sector participants on BOT basics.KPL developed a general cargo berth for Exports and Imports with world class facilities, which includes a car parking of 10,000 cars at a time and working on to expand 15,000 cars to store.This year working on to set up a new container terminal with capacity of 1.4 million TEUs ( Twenty-foot equivalent unit) on BOT basic, LNG Terminal and Coal berth to handle 9 million of coal for TNEB.As on date the port has the capacity to handle 44MTPA which is planned to touch in the long run to handle 142 MTPA.
