My FranChoice business matches the balance of a franchisor’s ever evolving operational systems with the entrepreneurial drive and skills of a business owner. Through 20 years in franchising I have participated in brand acquisitions, evolving startups, and building a multi-brand franchisor. By helping match folks to franchise models, I've developed a family of brands to more than 1000 independent franchisees and more than $1B in revenue. My passion is helping people achieve success through franchising.My franchising career began in the restaurant industry. I played operational management and leadership roles in startups and mature international brands. Through a mutual business associate and personal friend I was introduced to The Cleaning Authority (TCA) in the fall of 2002. TCA’s (and franchising’s) potential opportunity by pairing sophisticated systems with a simple widget WOWED me. I joined their team in early 2003, ultimately becoming the Chief Development Officer. After a couple years away from TCA (2013-2014), focusing on other projects (part of Oasis Senior Advisors founding team), I rejoined TCA and then formed Authority Brands, the parent of TCA, with the goal of providing expertise and resources to other home service franchise brands. Authority Brands subsequently acquired Homewatch Caregivers, America’s Swimming Pools, Mosquito Squad, Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, One Hour HVAC and Mr. Sparky, each mature businesses combining for more than $1 Billion in consumer revenue. After 16 years, and upon a second private equity flip, I exited.During some “time off” as a franchisor, I consulted private equity and investment bank firms as they considered multi-million dollar acquisitions, (which I continue to do). In 2021 I contracted with Premium Service Brands (PSB) for a 12 month run as the Chief Development Officer during which time PSB grew from 5 to 9 home service brands, servicing 1,000 territories.As an independent FranChoice consultant I remain dedicated to helping folks make a life, more than just a living, through business ownership.My wonderful wife, Natalie, and I have 5 amazing (young adult) children. We live in (and love!) Annapolis, MD with our incredible dog, Gracie.
