FABCYCLE is a collection service of fabric waste (scraps, off cuts, swatches and end of rolls) from local garment manufacturers, fashion designers and sewing labs to divert the waste from the landfill.We find innovative outlets and solutions to Reuse, Recycle or Recover textile waste by engaging with the local creative community, connecting with the industry and working with national and international partners. Fabric is not waste.

Frameworq Education Society, a non profit organization with the mission to overthrow a throwaway culture, bring back repair skills, build resilient communities and divert textile waste from the landfill.Taking special interest in textile waste practices in Vancouver, Frameworq launched a 2 month Upcycling Project in 2015, featuring a group of independent designers and 2 classes from the fashion design program at the Art Institute of Vancouver. All 23 designers were challenged to create a method to upcycle post consumer waste into ready to wear garments. The work of the designers was revealed at a 2 weeks exhibition at Dudoc Vancouver and culminated in a Fashion show at Club FiveSixty, operated by 40 volunteers and drawing almost 200 guests and industry.Some of the events organized by Frameworq:• Upcycling Project (3 month project with 23 designers on board)• Fashion show• Exhibitions• Design Challenges • Fix it events in collaboration with various organizations• Various Workshops• Clothing Swaps• Other events

The RADIUS Fellowship program brings together emerging social entrepreneurs and innovators. RADIUS (RADical Ideas, Useful to Society) is a social innovation lab and venture incubator based at the Beedie School of Business, Simon Fraser University.
