Elucidating role of tissue extracellular matrix in immune regulation, T cell trafficking and type 1 diabetes mechanisms using 2-photon microscopy.

* Taking part in research with Prof Ronen Alon on deciphering of molecular requirements of circulating immune cells to extravasate from blood vessels near sites of inflammation. We utilized 2-photon intravital microscopy in genetically manipulated mice to dissect the role of perivascular trafficking molecules in selective exit of immune cells through distinct blood vessels. * Collaboration with Prof Yair Reisner, on elucidating underlying mechanisms of third-party central-memory CD8(+) T cells hematopoietic chimerism during allogeneic transplantation of T cell–depleted Bone marrow.

Pioneering in vivo 2-photon-imaging at Weizmann Institute. Studying interactions and motility patterns of immune cells in living anesthetized mice. We were the first lab to start In vivo microscopy and promote a breakthrough in studying functional pathways of immune cells in vivo.
