In 2000 I started my academic career into NSPSPA, Faculty of Communication and Public Relations, as professor assistant. In 2004 I become University Lecturer and in 2014 Associate Professor. The main courses are Communication Theory, Ethics of Communication, Public Relations, Lobby. AchievementsI formed and led the first team of researchers in the field of risk perception and risk/crisis communication in Romania, coordinating 3 national research projects and 2 international projects (bilateral agreement with Middle Est Technical University, Turkey) (2006-2013).I was Executive Director of the Ethics Committee of NUPSPA (2006-2008), and I fulfilled the mandate to implement the Code of Ethics at the level of university governance. I was Executive Director of the MA Programme in Educational Management (2004-2013), a master program that I have proposed, implemented and successfully coordinated for almost 10 years. In October 2014 I was offered a 3 years position of honorary academic at Centre for Decision Analysis and Risk Management, Middlesex University, London, being involved in couple of research projects. I have joined in June 2008 as civil expert on risk and crisis communication representing Romania. In November 2012 I was elected the Chair of Ad Hoc Working Group on Public Information Policy: I lead the team of international experts in charge of updating the Budapest Guidelines, a NATO Practical Guide to Public Information during a Crisis. Other NATO activities to which I contributed are the civil protection international field exercises coordinated by NATO Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC) - I was a Member of Directing Staff and I coordinated the Public Information and Media Play component (exercises Serbija 2018, Serbia, Bosna i Hercegovina 2017 - Bosnia and Herzegovina, Crna Gora 2016 – Montenegro, Ukraine 2015, - Ukraine Georgia 2012 – Georgia, Codrii 2011 – Moldova, Armenia 2010 - Armenia, Zhetysu 2009 - Kazakhstan, Uusimma 2008 - Finland, Joint Assistance 2005 – Ukraine, Dacia 2003 - România). Another task during exercises was to provide training to the representatives of the host nations in the field of risk/crisis communication and media relations during emergency situations.In November 2008 I was selected to become a member of the Consequence of Intercept Analysis Team (COIAT) and the NATO Civil Emergency Planning Committee (CEPC) to support CBRN Consequence Mitigation - NATO Studies Support Group (SSG) under the Missile Defence Project Group (MDPG). In 2009 I’ve become a member of CEPC Ad Hoc Working Group on Missile Defence: I worked with policy documents that supported the North Atlantic Council (NAC) (the principal political decision-making body within NATO); I lead the team of international experts in charge with sub-tasking – Establish an education, warning, and public information policy in order to support both NATO and nations to successfully mitigate missile attack or intercept.

Joining as a contractor, I successfully proposed and implemented a “PR strategy and action plan” setting out the objectives, indicators and actions leading to raising the company’s profile in various business sectors, including: defense, medical, transport, and the elderly.Main responsibilities: design and implementation of communication strategy; collaboration with external PR agencies to determine the branding, design and creation of brochures, leaflets and the website; collaboration with external media agencies to promote the results, and to yield the activities of the company.

Starting with 2008, UEFISCDI implemented 5 Strategic Projects for Romanian Higher Education, financed through the EU Structural Funds Programme. These projects have opened the second cycle of structural transformations in the Romanian higher education sector, following the 2007 Romania admission in the EU. I was selected to coordinate the communication and public relations team (20 persons) for all 5 projects. Main responsibilities: design and implementation of communication strategy; collaboration with external PR agencies to determine the branding including design and creation of brochures, leaflets and the website; collaboration with media to promote the activities and to yield the results of the projects; raising awareness through consistent communication campaigns; planning and organizing seminars, meetings and conferences.

Research on psychology of groups confronting emergency situations

Main responsibilities: developing the mass-media monitoring methodology; mass-media monitoring and analysis; design and implementation of communication strategy; collaboration with external PR agencies as well as internal sales and marketing managers to determine branding, product positioning and media messages; creating messages, position statements and other corporate communications based on agency objectives; content for organizational publications including employee newsletters and ministry reports

I taught Logics, Psychology, Economics, Philosophy and Aesthetics disciplines.Achievements: due of my teaching performances, I was selected as expert-consultant for the National Review and Assessment Service, Ministry of Education, in order to design the curricula for baccalaureate examination in Philosophy and Aesthetic disciplines and supervising the assessment process. The collaboration continued until 2004.
