I interpreted maps for tree species abundance, organized and planned field weeks and travel whileprioritizing sample locations. Managed technicians and instructed them on data collection procedure, while collecting data alongside them.

At La Hesperia Reserve I wrote methods for multiple long term anti-erosion projects; including keylines and reservoirs. Testing for biodiversity and soil saturation. I also led my own independent study based species of Anura found within the reserve with an emphasis on Centrolenidae behavior and habitat. With both of these projects, I used ArcGIS Pro and QGIS to map habitat and key characteristics within the reserve.

As a an Aquatic Invasive Species Assistant with the DNR, I work with Microsoft Excel to organize and verify data that is later released as public record. I also perform literature reviews on the efficiency of disinfection methods by species through analysis and application of peer reviewed articles.

During my time as a researcher here, I worked under Amy Trowbridge in her entomology lab, The Trowbridge Lab. Here I collaborated closely with graduate students on several research projects. My primary focus was on extracting and processing metabolites from conifers and aspen trees, including their xylem, phloem, and cortex, using liquid nitrogen and chemical solutions.Throughout my work, I gained extensive experience in mixing chemical solutions and adhering to proper lab procedures, as well as utilizing pipetting, micro-pipetting, centrifuges, shakers, sonicators, GeneVac systems, and Gas Chromatography Systems.Aside from lab work I also worked in a field-work capacity. During the warmer months of the year we worked long hours and endured various weather conditions while clipping samples from the top branches of aspen trees with a tree trimmer. From there we labeled and preserved the samples in dewers of liquid nitrogen. It was important to stay organized to endure no samples were missed or repeated. As I often worked independently, I developed valuable problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. I also had the opportunity to collaborate with graduate students, modifying sample processing procedures and devising new methods. This experience was valuable in helping me to grow as a researcher and become a more effective collaborator.

As a server at Marigold Kitchen, I gained valuable experience in customer service and restaurant operations. I was responsible for taking orders, serving food, and bussing tables, while working closely with both customers and staff. My problem-solving skills were put to the test as I navigated busy shifts and unexpected situations. I developed strong customer relations skills, as I worked to ensure that each guest had a positive dining experience. My time as a server gave me a well-rounded perspective on the restaurant industry and provided me with valuable interpersonal skills.

I am employed by a private family to uphold the terms of their conservation easement on their prairies and wetland designated as a sandhill crane sanctuary. This involves extensive land clearing with chainsaws, tractors, etc as well as the identification and treatment of invasive plant species.

During my first research position with The Lindroth Group, I had the privilege of working under Dr. Richard Lindroth in his well-established Entomology research lab. As a support researcher, I was involved in a project that focused on defense metabolites in aspen trees.Working in the lab, I gained valuable experience using Microsoft Excel for data entry and analysis, and learned how to process leaf samples from aspen trees using a shaker. To prepare these samples for extraction, I used several lab balances, including an ultra-micro balance. This work required a keen attention to detail and organization, which has since become second nature to me in lab-based procedures.In addition to lab work, I also had the opportunity to contribute to field work expeditions, including maintaining one of our research plots. My time with The Lindroth Group was a great experience that gave me a strong foundation in research and helped me develop key technical and organizational skills that I continue to use today.

During my time at Eddie Bauer, I gained valuable experience in customer service and gained insight into the inner workings of a retail store. As a sales associate, I operated cash registers and assisted with inventory intake.In addition to sales responsibilities, I also took an active role in maintaining the store's appearance and organization. This included restocking shelves, organizing displays, and keeping the store presentable for customers.At Eddie Bauer, I gained a thorough understanding of how a retail store operates and how to deliver excellent customer service.
