Molecular biologist with extensive experience in systems and molecular neuroscience, and gene editing technology.I am currently a Vertex Fellow, a one-year transition fellowship at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, where I'm developing cell models and novel gene editing strategies. In my graduate work at UCSF, I :• Identified key brain areas mediating opioid overdose and demonstrated that removal of the ß-Arrestin 2 signaling pathway does not mitigate opioid respiratory depression.• Taught mice to hold their breath, in order to understand why it is that we can hold our breath but not stop our heart.
