• Aseptically cultured E. coli on a shaker flask scale and 10 L bench-scale fermenter to produce virus-like-particles as a vaccine candidate for Group A Streptococcus. • Designed and executed a fed-batch process and analysed samples taken from the process through SDS PAGE analysis and Gene Tools software.• Ensured appropriate disposal of biological material associated with antibiotic-resistant bacterial strains according to the University’s Safe Operating Procedures. As part of this project, I had the opportunity to develop a new program for pumping concentrated nutrient feed at an exponential rate using the BioCommand software and problem-solving skills through resolving issues with the experimental equipment.

• Collaborated with a team of nine to achieve project goals towards improvement, promotion and sales of the “Fire/Buka” Stove as an alternative to open fire cooking in Sigatoka, Fiji.• Pitched to key stakeholders, such as village headmen, retailers and townspeople - achieving 32.5% of sales in one month.• Empathised and collected feedback on the iterations of the Buka stove and the requirements of each demographic for future improvements in the model.• Assisted in organising and set up of a local market stall to facilitate a new form of marketing for the stove.Working in a foreign environment with a multi-disciplinary team was a valuable opportunity to learn about adaptability, communication and teamwork.
