Executive Community Health Nursing Director
CurrentSenior Management position which has the overall responsibility for the operational supervision and ongoing support of public health delivery at Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County. Serves as Director of the Office of Public Health Nursing, Refugee Health Services, Clinical Administrative Support Services and the Centralized Appointment Center. Responsible for supervisory duties including but not limited to selection and hiring, developing performance plans, conducting performance appraisals, planning and directing work, approving leave, taking disciplinary action as needed, etc. Provides feedback, support, and coaching of nursing and ancillary healthcare staff. Ensures that staff and health centers are in compliance with all regulatory standards, policies, procedures and guidelines. Assesses resources and capabilities of nursing and ancillary healthcare staff, makes decisions and/or recommendations regarding prioritization of services. Monitors the allocated budget for three health centers, refugee health services and the Office of Public Health Nursing. Examines documentation and provision of contracted services to ensure compliance. Continuously evaluates community trends and develops strategies for program performance and quality improvement. Critically examines mediation occurrences, complaints and concerns and develops plans of corrections as needed. Reviews and analyzes data to improve community/population, programs, and agency wide outcomes. Conducts meetings with staff to provide leadership, disseminate information and follow-up actions. Regularly attends meetings and establishes ongoing relationships and collaborations with department heads and relevant staff.
