About Iris Maletsky (Isbansky)
I am a Mom of two amazing little boys. Recently, I decided to go back to school and change my career path to something more meaningful, being an educator. After completing my Associate's degree at Lehigh Carbon Community College with a 4.0 GPA, I transferred to Moravian University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in English, a secondary education teaching certification, and a minor in Disability Studies and Inclusion in the Classroom. I maintained a 4.0 GPA and served as an executive board member for multiple organizations at Moravian. Prior to going back to school I worked in the automotive industry as a service manager and in the US Army as an all-source intelligence analyst. I have over 16 years of experience in leadership, training, teamwork, and meeting goals. In my spare time, I enjoy camping and hiking with my family. I am also certified in mental health first aid for veterans and their families and am always ready to help if a fellow veteran, their family, or anyone is in need. When I was younger I spent some time teaching percussion to middle school students and truly enjoyed it. I still love music but have since found my passion for English and special education, and I can't wait to begin teaching. One important thing to remember, even in challenging times, is that we can do hard things. With a little work, some creative problem solving, and someone to believe in you when you aren't sure you can do it, you can accomplish anything. Let's get started building the future together!
