I am a lifelong learner with a passion for food systems, sustainability, and education! I recently became the Rooftop Farming Coordinator at Windy City Harvest, managing the 3/4 acre rooftop gardens at McCormick Place convention center. Before moving into this role I served as a crew leader in the workforce development program at Windy City Harvest, teaching agricultural and professional skills to program participants who are recovering from barriers such as former incarceration or veteran status.I was recently a team leader for Loyola’s Urban Agriculture Program. I co-led the mushroom production program area, growing choice edible mushrooms under lab conditions and outdoors. I led interns through the production process and mentor projects.I was also an intern at the Stein Learning Gardens at Saint Sabina where I worked in the gardens as an educator for K-8 students. Additionally, I have the opportunity to engage with the community through Barbara’s Market, advancing food equity.Last spring I was an intern in Loyola’s Urban Agriculture program where I studied hydroponics, aquaponics, mushroom production, and garden/greenhouse production.I am passionate about sustainable agriculture, food justice, climate action, and the intersections of environmentalism with anti-racism and gender equality. I am also passionate about outdoor activities—camping, hiking, and kayaking—and yoga and breathwork.
