Pillow Talk Scotland is a charity (SC053638) dedicated to promoting a sex positive culture through independent journalism, community engagement, and social media.As its founding editor, my key responsibilities and achievements include:- Created and developed the idea behind Pillow Talk, growing the community from a sex positive reading group to a broader platform that connects people around issues of relationships, sexual health, and mental health.- Secured funding to launch our events programme, which includes workshops, reading groups, and educational sessions. I also manage all event logistics.- Produce high-quality content for our newsletter, social media platforms, and educational resources, including zines, all aimed at advancing Relationships, Sex, and Health Education (RSHE) for individuals 18+.- Formed a board of professionals from sectors such as journalism, the third sector, and the arts to steer Pillow Talk’s mission and growth, making sure all our activities are shaped by the local community.- Collaborated with the board to write the charitable status application, ensuring it aligned with our mission and goals.- Focus on fostering safe, inclusive spaces — both digital and physical — where people can engage in open discussions on sex, consent, and sexual health, advancing public education on these topics.- Secured our first partnerships, including a film screening in collaboration with Take One Action and SQUIFF and our first journalistic co-publication with The National.

During my time at The Young Women's Movement, I was the creative mind behind:- Crafting a webinar exploring women's portrayal in the media, zooming in on ethical reporting of gender-based violence.- Creating "Femtorial," a weekly Instagram series I founded. It was all about breaking down feminist concepts in a fun and digestible way through cool designs and engaging content.- Hosting and producing "The Importance of Being Feminist" podcast. We dove into issues affecting women in Scotland and beyond, sparking conversations and spreading awareness.In this role, I got to blend creativity with advocacy, using content to empower and educate.

During my participation in the Young Women Lead program, I collaborated with fellow members of the 2021 cohort on a comprehensive 9-month study focused on Glasgow's urban infrastructure. Our aim was to assess its alignment with and support for the diverse needs of women and non-binary individuals in the city. Our findings were documented in a research report that garnered attention from the City Council and national media outlets.

These videos garnered substantial traction, with some going viral and reaching an audience of over six million on Facebook alone. Notably, the clip 'Vagina Myths Debunked' achieved nearly four million views, and my work on debunking virginity myths was selected for feature on 'The Social Presents' program on BBC iPlayer.

As Digital Engagement Editor at Bella Caledonia, I enhanced our online presence and drove content engagement. My role involved not only creating compelling content but also strategically leveraging analytics to refine our approach. Additionally, I collaborated with the editorial team to amplify the digital impact of our stories, covering diverse topics such as gender and migrant rights.
