I believe all children regardless of race, ability, social class or gender have the opportunity to succeed. As an educator, my goal is to provide students with the cross curricular foundations needed for a successful life as active members of their chosen communities. Creating a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere is key in helping students learn to appreciate, respect, and embrace diversity. I provide instruction using multiple learning modalities, enabling students to learn through their preferred method, which is key to this generation. Advocating for quality education is why I was awarded as the "Difference Maker" during the 2020-2021 school year. I place emphasis on creating personal connections with each of my students. In doing so, their educational focus is on not only their cognitive development but also their emotional and social wellbeing. For all of these reasons, and more, I was nominated and elected "Teacher of the Year" for the 2021-2022 school year.
