Hi there! I’m a cybersecurity professional with a unique background that spans three continents. Born to Brazilian and Angolan parents in Portugal in the 90s, I spent my childhood and teenage years bouncing between Portugal and Angola. Growing up, I was the kid who was always more into computers than most of my classmates, but it took me a while to realize that tech could be a career path, even if you’re not a math genius.I initially found my creative outlet in photography, which let me blend my love for technology with artistic expression. But after reaching my creative goals as a photographer, I felt the pull to aim even higher. That’s when I started exploring IT and discovered cybersecurity—a field that truly captured my interest.Driven by curiosity, I set up my own virtual machines, built a SOC lab, and enrolled in Masterschool’s Cybersecurity Program. There, I connected with some amazing people who helped fuel my passion for cybersecurity and encouraged me to pursue a career where I could make a real difference.I believe the internet is an incredible place, and I’m committed to doing my part to keep it safe from those who might spoil it for the rest of us. My ability to quickly adapt and my insatiable curiosity have helped me thrive in this fast-paced field.In my most recent role at Natixis, I’ve gained valuable experience in security incident management, networking, and the importance of teamwork. I’ve also learned how crucial it is to work in an environment where you feel comfortable asking questions—no matter how simple they may seem.Although I’m naturally an introvert, I love connecting with fellow tech enthusiasts, especially those who can teach me new things. I’m also passionate about sharing my own knowledge, which is why I occasionally write on Medium and post here on LinkedIn.Outside of work, I’m an avid reader and traveler. Books are like friends to me, always offering new perspectives, even through fiction. While I haven’t traveled as much as I’d like, I’ve had the chance to visit places like Spain, Andorra, the UAE, England, and the US, in addition to my time in Portugal and Angola.Right now, I’m focused on expanding my skills in SOC operations, with the goal of making a bigger positive impact in the cybersecurity world.
