About Iris Crowe-Lerma, Mph, Pmp

Iris Crowe-Lerma, Mph, Pmp is a Senior Director, Resource Operations at Rescue | The Behavior Change Agency. She possess expertise in event planning, event management, public speaking, budgets, social media and 22 more skills. Colleagues describe her as "Iris was one of the supervisors I could ever ask for. Not only was she very flexible and understanding of her staff, she was accommodating whenever any of us needed to change our shifts during busy times. I had one of my best working experiences with Iris and the rest of The Zone staff. Our team of eight felt more like a big group of friends working towards a common goal rather than individuals doing their own work. Each staff inspired one another to do better and I felt very motivated and empowered being with this group. This is all thanks to Iris for putting so much effort in team-building exercises and really making the work environment a safe space for all the staff. Iris also cared greatly for the well-being of her staff and held one-on-one meetings at the end of each quarter to discuss our strengths and areas that could use improvements in a very positive and encouraging way. Not only did she personally help fill our shifts when we were short on staff, she spent a great deal of effort in helping us grow as professionals. Without her guidance and constant encouragement, I couldn't have been where I am today." and "It has been an absolute delight and privilege working with Iris for nearly 2 years at The Zone. By title, Iris was my supervisor, but in reality, she was much more than that. Iris was a mentor and educator to each of us interns. She made us her priority, along with the numerous projects and programs she managed so fluidly in tight deadline-driven environments. Staff meetings weren't just an hour of each person's time every week to update each other about their most recent project. Staff meetings were also opportunities for Iris and each intern to teach each the whole team something new - whether it may be enhancing our resumes, sharpening our social media "savviness", or just simply having the chance to get to know each other better. Iris didn't just teach us how to be accountable, good workers -- she guided us in becoming great team-workers. She continues to be encouraging and motivating, despite that many of us interns have graduated and moved on, and always does her best to set each of us up for success in life after college. Iris' optimism, consistent support and high expectations for herself as well as the team are the reasons why The Zone is able to further its vision in creating a healthier and happier community at UC San Diego. Any team looking for a go-getter and incredible people-person would benefit greatly with Iris' positive spirit and strong work ethic!"
