ABOUT MEIris Koolen has always been fascinated in how people learn. Why do people learn? And in what ways? What works and what doesn't? When is someone motivated to do something different than they have always done? Having been disadvantaged herself, she has a soft spot for people who come from a different situation, who are different, who have less self-confidence. We need to look at 'learning' in a different way. The way we learn may very well determine how we will shape the world of tomorrow. Iris is the founder of several successful companies in the field of digital learning (RMMBR, Elephant Road, Bespeak, Visavi and TinQwise). All these companies specialize in didactics and thus in explaining complex topics to different audiences. Together with Jim Stolze, ICAI and prominent Dutch organizations, Iris then developed the National AI Course (www.ai-cursus.nl). A follow-up is the company I.AMDIGITAL. With this initiative, professionals receive a crash course in digital skills for their own work & organization. In addition to her entrepreneurship, Iris graduated from the Art Academy Haarlem (KHL) in 2021 and regularly exhibits her creative work. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
