As a Coast Ambassador, I carried out all the responsibilities of a front desk agent. These included, but were not limited to check-ins and check-outs, settling bills, making and cancelling reservations via email, telephone, or in person, etc. Moreover, I'd ensure that all the group arrivals and Rocky Mountaineer bookings would run smoothly from A to Z.

The management at Accent Inns Kamloops has provided me with an extensive training on the daily front desk operations as well as the Maestro PMS system. Responsibilities include: checking guest in and out, taking reservations per phone, email and OTA's, settling bills, basic financial administration and reporting, and providing the guest with excellent service and care throughout their stay.

During my internship at Wildplaces Africa I have learned a great deal about the marketing operations of a high-end tour operator. The company granted me the responsibility of completely updating both of their websites, while working together with their IT employee. Furthermore, I have done some creative writing which presented the company at the We Are Africa trade fair. Apart from these and other marketing related activities I would keep myself busy with updating many of the company's databases, I handled direct-client inquiries, and created a Social Media Guide for future marketing employees.

As a MSDT I have taught and trained a variety of PADI courses ranging from Open Water Diver to Dive Master and everything in between. A few of my favourite specialities include: Deep, Nitrox, AWARE Fish ID, PPB and Night. I have trained people of all ages and cultures, and find it easy to adapt to any barriers that may arise. When teaching I emphasize the importance of students feeling at ease at any given time and I always aim to make their hearts grow fonder of the oceans.
