Hello! I am currently a student at the University of Calgary, about to complete my bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences. I have completed all of my course work and will be graduating this November. Following my graduation, I plan to apply to become a Biologist in Training with the Alberta Society of Professional Biologists. As a soon-to-be graduate looking to launch my career, I am coming into the industry eager to advance my skills and undertake new challenges.During my time studying at the University of Calgary I have taken a wide variety of courses which has allowed to to develop a broad set of skills. Taking classes in Ecology and Conservation Biology has allowed me to gain a strong understanding of different ecological principles, the current biodiversity crisis, and the mitigation strategies that are being employed to preserve ecosystems. I have also gained practical experience working in a laboratory environment while completing my coursework. Through this experience, I learned how to safely and concisely conduct work in a lab while using basic laboratory equipment. As an individual, I am passionate about environmental conservation and working towards a more sustainable future. We are in the midst of a biodiversity crisis that requires immediate and effective solutions. My goal is to one day be able to contribute to those solutions.
