Conducted research focusing on the area of material science, primarily in piezoelectrics. Investigated piezoelectric polymer composites with photosensitive matrices and working towards designing piezoelectric polymers via multi-phase composites to promote their manufacturability.Responsibilities include weekly research updates, training in different microfabrication equipment and upkeeping the lab to make sure that all necessary materials are in stock or placing orders. Independent research currently involved taking initiative towards the progress of current project by creating a design of experiments, performing literature searches, material selection and analyzing gathered data as well as creating user manuals for instrument use and procedures. Fabrication methods include different photolithography methods, including spin coating, patterning with negative photoresists, developing optimized recipes for desired resolution with respective photoresists.

    Graduate Teaching Assistant
University Of New Mexico School Of Engineering Aug 2020 - Dec 2022
    Albuquerque, Nm, Us
Led the laboratory component of classes inside of UNM’s Type 1000 Cleanrooms for several years, employing surface/bulk microfabrication techniques, including optimizing etching and photolithographic recipes for devicesClasses taught include:1. Fundamentals of Microsystems Fabrication - Mechanical Engineering (ME 517), UNM Fall 2022Training graduate and undergraduate students in different microfabrication processes and delving more in depth by testing different parameters of each step by performing experiments as the class goes along. Optimized a micro-pressure sensor device and currently employing said recipe to fabricate full wafers full of the devices. 2. Microsystem Fabrication-Focused Undergraduate Research Experience, UNM Summer 2020, Summer 2022, Fall 2022Teaching students from different community colleges in the US how to fabricate different MEMS devices in a cleanroom environment. UNM’s Manufacturing Training and Technology Center holds a type 1000 cleanroom, and students are taught how to fabricate micro pressure sensor, microfluidics devices, among different micro devices. Surface and bulk microfabrication process were employed and taught. 3. Advanced Micro-and Nano-systems Engineering - Mechanical Engineering (ME 519, NSMS 519), UNM Spring 2022Taught the lab part of the class inside of UNM’s MTTC Type 1000 Cleanroom, where different microfabrication techniques are employed: Photolithography processes, wet and dry etching, metallization techniques and probe characterizationDesigned photomask for Electro-thermal actuator device4. Microelectronics Processing - Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE 574, NSMS 574), Fall 2020, Fall 2021Led the laboratory part of the class where an n-channel Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor (MOSFET) device was fabricated. This involves training students to use various instruments in a type 1000 cleanroom as well as teaching the theory behind the working mechanisms of the various processing methods.
