Supervise Intake Unit staff and work closely with the Director of Health Services on the administrative responsibilities of the Health Services Department comprised of Case Management, Utilization Management and Precertification. Responsible for ensuring authorization requests, adverse determinations and appeals are processed in a timely manner to meet state required timeframes. Write and update departmental policies and procedures. Maintain files for internal and state audits. Track utilization data and compile reports demonstrating compliance with utilization management program work plan and quality assurance indicators. Conduct staff audits to ensure customer service, knowledge and accuracy are within standard performance measures. Compile monthly reports for presentation to the Board of Directors. Additional duties include monitoring employee time sheets, coordinating requests for time off, ensure departmental adherence to administrative policies, and developing instruction manuals for departmental processes.

Responsible for the Senator’s calendar, travel arrangements and expense report reimbursements. Supervised and scheduled volunteers & part-time interns. Duties included representing the Senator at public meetings and events when needed. Coordinated town hall meetings, addressed, resolved and logged constituent requests and casework. Upon Senator Peggy Rosson’s 1997 retirement, was hired by State Senator Eliot Shapleigh to train incoming staff.
