I don't believe in locking my goals in advance. Effectuation rules in my personal and professional life!For years I was a hobbyist researcher researching hobbyist game developers. To everybody's surprise, I finally finished my PhD path in October 2015. I was honored to have Professor William B. Gartner as opponent for my thesis, The Game of Developing a Game. Hobbyist Game Developers as Playful Entrepreneurs in the Apple App Store.After the defence, research has been on the back-burner, but in June 2020 I facilitated a workshop in Effectuation Potluck together with my colleague Merja Alanko-Turunen. It was so nice to meet all the old friends from Effectuation conferences that I felt tempted to get more active in that field again! In March 2022 I attended online Effectuation Conference in Japan, and contacted Mikiko Shimaoka and Emi Makino after the conference. We started quilting, and the result is JET- Peer Mentoring Program for Japanese Effectuation Teachers. It is a 4 month long program, which kicked off in November 2022. We have 23 participants from 12 Japanese universities. Needless to say: I'm exited!My last years as a vocational teacher trainer I was busy with export of education programs in Colombia and South Africa, and developing teachers' digital competence in Haaga-Helia & nationally in eAMK project. I retired in March 2020, and after 2 weeks, I went back to Haaga-Helia to help teachers in transitioning their face to face courses to online implementations. During the spring I also facilitated workshops on how to use interactive tools in online environments to increase participant engagement. Since fall 2021 I have entertained myself by facilitating workshops, mentoring new teachers and experimenting how to make video tutorials on themes like accessibility. I have mainly done it as a hobby, but I wouldn't mind freelancing more as a trainer/mentor/facilitator.
