About Iryna Gurevych

I am Director of the Ubiquitous Knowledge Processing (UKP) Lab at the Department of Computer Science at TU Darmstadt, Adjunct Professor at the NLP Department at MBZUAI, and a founding member of Hessian.AI. My main interests are natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning (ML), argument mining and NLP in cybersecurity, social sciences and humanities. I have been an ELLIS Fellow since 2019 and also co-lead the ELLIS NLP programme. I have served as the ACL 2018 program co-chair and as the president of SIGDAT in 2021. In 2020, I have been selected as an ACL fellow, and I am the President of the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL) in 2023. In March 2021, I have been selected as the first LOEWE Distinguished Professor in Hessen. In 2022, I received an Advanced Grant from the European Research Council.
