At USC Admissions, I work under the Small-Town and Rural Students (STARS) Program, which aims to build upon existing connections with small-town and rural students across the country. As a Student Worker, I research ways to increase outreach to our target demographic, lead webinars for rural student applicants, and prepare material for USC Admissions events.

During my tenure as an Electronics Engineer Intern at Northrop Grumman Space Systems, I was entrusted with a multitude of responsibilities that contributed to the company's stringent standards for system security and performance. I spearheaded the hardening of diverse computer test sets, ensuring both Linux and Windows systems complied with the rigorous Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG). My role also encompassed the management of an expansive test network comprising 873 hosts. This not only involved monitoring but also proactive efforts in fortifying its security, furthering the progression toward Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) compliance. In alignment with client needs and specifications, I was also actively involved in the procurement process, meticulously selecting and assembling computers that balanced budget constraints with performance metrics, compatibility requirements, and specific form factors. My time at Northrop Grumman was characterized by a commitment to excellence, technological innovation, and a focus on ensuring the highest standards of cybersecurity.

I work with USC´s Workday Human Capital Management Functional Design Project Team. The Functional Design Project Team maintains and rolls out new versions of Workday at USC. As a student worker, I test effort certification of the latest versions of Workday before implementation from a set of given test cases to ensure the certification process will work upon launching the new version of Workday.

As an Information Systems Intern at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, I worked with Network Engineers. I was responsible for configuring and clearing 9000 series Cisco APs/switches and helping with software upgrades across the Hospital using Cisco DNA. In addition, I completed an individual project of setting up Raspberry Pi’s on the network to run Thousand Eyes to test the network throughout the day.

Schneider Custom Baling is a family operation that makes ten thousand square bales a year. I help with the physical labor involved with making square baling. This involves stacking and unloading 50 pound square bales over the course of the work day.

Black Family Farm raises peer bred Boar Goats and Shorthorn cattle. During my time as a farmhand at Black Family Farm I operated heavy farm machinery, used mechanical skills to maintain machinery, maintained, fed, and cared for livestock, and repaired/built livestock facilities. All of these activities involve strenuous physical labor and practice of problem solving skills.

KCTC, is a cooperative that provides internet, tv, streaming services, and other technological services to local communities. During my time at KCTC, as an intern, I worked with all areas of the cooperative. This includes, but not limited to, splicing fiber optic cables, locating underground wires, servicing computers, helping with installs of various technologies, and sitting in on customer service and trouble shooting.
