Hello, my name is Isaac Carias and I'm a first year student at Algonquin College. One of the first things anyone ever asks you in the first year of high school is: what do you want to do with your life? All my peers had it figured out, doctor, lawyer, accountant, etc. Me? I had no idea. From that day on I set out on a journey to discover what that was. From working in a warehouse sanding stairs in south central Ottawa, to assisting millwrights and welders in a sawmill on Vancouver island, I've done it all. Clothing retail, hard labour construction, line cook at a restaurant, you name it, I've probably done it. None of these experiences I've had felt like they suited me, that was until I discovered plumbing. With the perfect mix of hands on creation that I enjoy and with the complex problem solving that keeps a mind sharp, plumbing, in my opinion is a work of art. Now, I don't have much experience, but I've seen the work that other certified plumbers and apprentices can do, and there's nothing more I want right now than to be able to comprehend, achieve and create the same level of work that these great tradesmen can. With my communication experience and eagerness to learn, I believe I can truly make an amazing apprentice, just waiting for my debut.
