As an Astronomy/Astrophysics undergraduate at Indiana University Bloomington, I am always eager to learn more about the mysteries of the universe and the origin and evolution of celestial objects. I am currently pursuing my Bachelor of Science degree in Astronomy, expected to graduate in May 2026, with the help of the 21st Century Scholarship, TEAM-UP Together Scholarship, and much more.In the summer of 2023, I had the opportunity to work in a REU at the IU Astronomy Department, where I conducted research on star clusters. I used data from the Gaia Space Mission and remotely used the WIYN 3.5m telescope to analyze the stellar parameters and lithium abundances of red giants in the old open cluster NGC 7789. I also created color magnitude diagrams in Python and practiced generating synthetic spectra using the MOOG software. Through this REU, I developed my skills in data analysis, programming, and scientific communication, and contributed to the advancement of knowledge in stellar astrophysics. I also have an interest in exoplanet detection and characterization, and I hope to explore this field further in the future.
