I was a teenager when I began to develop my storytelling abilities – first in the form of poetry, then through fiction writing. I started experimenting with visuals in my junior year of high school when I purchased my first DSLR. Having a natural eye for the medium, my photos and captions soon came to be featured in the articles of local newspapers. I entered a community college upon graduation where I became involved with a TV and radio production class. I quickly gained skills in videography and editing, eventually winning both state and national awards during my time there. Interested in pursuing a career where I could combine my love of writing and visual storytelling, I applied to the University of Kansas School of Journalism and Mass Communications – now my alma mater. I have since successfully completed five internships, received a number of prestigious accolades, published work in Morocco, Ireland and Germany, was employed as a National Media Liaison producing domestic U.S. stories for the not-for-profit, humanitarian organization Operation Blessing International, worked as a Humanitarian Features Producer tasked with highlighting the projects of Operation Blessing International, Orphan's Promise and CBN/The 700 Club within Israel, the West Bank, and other countries throughout the Middle East and now produce true life stories in the U.S. meant to inspire and encourage. Storytelling is more than a simple career choice for me... It is a calling.
