I serve in the Congregational Redevelopment Initiative with the English District of the LCMS and am called to St. John the Divine Evangelical Lutheran Church (LCMS) in Chicago, IL. I also serve in support of Salem Lutheran Church in the Northern Illinois District of the LCMS.

Senior Pastor of South Suburban Christian Church in Littleton, Colorado. Littleton is a southern suburb of Denver. South Suburban is an evangelical, multi-staff congregation affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada.

First Christian Church is a program size congregation of 849 members on the rolls with a participating membership of 489. First Christian is one of the largest churches in a community of about 50,000 people drawing from a Tri-State region of about 100,000. It is the largest mainline Protestant Church in the same area. Founded in 1887, the congregation has a long history of being a community-focused and mission-minded congregation. It has a history of long pastorates of between 10 and 30 years. The congregation is ranked as a top 100 congregation in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Since 2004, the congregation has ordained five men and women, received two others from other denominations through recognition of orders and licensed two others for local ministry to other congregations.The congregation has a staff of ten. The full-time staff consists of a Senior Minister, Associate Minister/Minister of Worship, Director of Family Life Ministries, Facility Manager, and Office Manager. The part-time staff includes a Financial Secretary, an Audio/Video Producer and three credentialed child care workers.In 2014, the congregation was the largest donor in North America to Week of Compassion and is one of the largest supporters to the Disciples Mission Fund. In addition to the strong support of Disciples Missions, the congregation cooperated with the World Convention mission partner, Pakistan Christian Evangelical Services, Inc., to build a church in Pakistan and continues to support their pastor’s salary and expenses. In 2015 and 2016, the congregation celebrated being a top donor to Disciple Home Missions and Week of Compassion.

North Chevy Chase Christian Church was a pastoral size congregation of about 200 members with a participating membership of 178. The operating budget was $440,000 with an endowment of $1.4 million dollars. The full-time staff included the Senior Minister and Secretary. Part-time staff included a Minister of Visitation, Director of Youth, Choirmaster/Organist and Church Administrator.North Chevy Chase Church is nestled in a very affluent community within Montgomery County, Maryland and only a mile from the northern Washington D.C. line. It was only blocks from the Bethesda Naval Hospital and National Institute of Health. Consequently, the membership of this congregation was particularly affluent and highly educated with a large proportion of physicians and medical researchers. Over 10% of the congregation were active para-church and retired ministers. This congregation served as the primary meeting space for Regional meetings and events for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) – Capital Area. Due to the diversity of the area, the congregation was active with international ministries, including nesting an Indonesian Presbyterian Church and as one of the supporting congregations of the Friends of Jordan organization, an ecumenical association of Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox and Protestant clergy that supports economic development of the Holy Land through tourism and mission within indigenous churches and mission agencies. During my tenure, we embarked on several large capital projects including property expansion, significant landscaping projects and asbestos abatement in preparation for remodeling.

On my arrival at Vinson Church was a family size congregation of about 300 members with a participating membership of about 100 people with an average attendance of 60. By the end of my ministry, the congregation grew to a pastoral size attendance of 160. It was ranked as the fastest growing congregation in West Virginia and the seventh fastest growing congregation for congregations under 500 within the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). During my tenure, giving increased by 50% and a second worship service was started. The service was an Ancient/Future worship experience with contemporary music and liturgical order. Several capital improvements were completed, including property expansion and renovation to the worship building that restored the stained glass and added a new organ and sound system. The congregation was active as a community center for the neighborhood, hosting multiple groups for meetings and events. A heavy focus on educational ministry was central to the congregation’s ministry with Bible studies on Sunday evenings and two weekday studies during the day and in the evening.
