Second in command of a UK warship, responsible for the effective management, running and overall organisation of the unit. As additionally head of the Executive and Logistics departments, the role held responsibility for the management and oversight of correct practices and procedures in matters of safety (HSE Lead), welfare, morale and discipline of the Ship’s Company, as well as co-ordination of personnel movements, training and competency forecasting. Directly responsible for ensuring the accurate identification of personnel and material factors which incur risk to life or the environment are captured, assessed and mitigated to a tolerable state in order to maintain operational output of the unit.Provided project support throughout phases of the lifcycle during a period of refit, including the monitoring of KPIs, assessing and mitigating risks and providing regular accurate reporting to industry partners.

Third in command, responsible for the accurate planning and scheduling of the ships program, involving liaison with numerous stakeholders internal and external, to ensure an effective plan is followed and risks are mitigated to achieve ordered tasking. Head of the warfare department and responsible for the management and direction of the units largest team. As the unit Diving Officer, responsible for an effective, safe and compliant team for mixed gas and air diving Mine Countermeasures operations as required in accordance with MOD and HSE policy.

Extensive and arduous training package which involved the assimilation of a significant quantity of information including;- Air/Mixed gas diving to 60m depth- Air/Mixed gas supervision to 60m depth- Recompression Chamber Supervision- Explosive Ordnance Disposal No. 1 Operator, in both Surface and Advanced Sub-Surface environments (Level 3 Diploma in Defence Explosive Ordnance Disposal awarded).- Mine Warfare Specialist Qualification

Management, planning and accurate forecasting for the gunnery teams on board. The role involved acting as both the head safety for weapon usage, and the accurate allocation and management of resources to ensure the team were current and effective in matters of gunnery. Head of management and accountancy for the ship’s financial account, which held upwards of £100,000 in various currencies responsible for the required goods/services whilst in foreign ports.
