Served as a Resident Adviser in different University of Washington On-Campus housing communities. Was the Resident Adviser for the hall that pioneered an all-gender community restroom. Currently a Resident Adviser for an apartment-style living community. Tasks include answering phone calls, responding to emails, getting to know over fifty residents on a personal level through weekly interactions, community building with almost complete strangers, creating healthy workplace relationships, talking residents through personal crises, performing building rounds each week, responding to fire alarms and communicating with the Seattle Fire Department, creating decorations for each door and wall of the residence halls, mediating conflicts and finding resolutions, performing room inspections, and managing schedules and important dates for the entire residence hall.

Columbia Gorge Office

Worked as an Intern for the Columbia Gorge area engineering office. Learned how to read and prepare Project Documents. Utilized AutoCAD to create detailed project plans for project engineers to review and approve. Created schedules for upcoming office engineering projects. Worked as ticket taker for a state Highway 14 paving project. Set up a scoping project; created a budget, built a schedule, and organized meetings with project engineers for the improvement of existing pavement at an Interstate 5 weigh station. Used electronic angle finders to determine the slope and safety of a state Highway 14 on-ramp, used the data collected to design a round-about in the interstate. Reviewed citizen feedback to create an agenda for a public outreach community meeting.

Southwest Region Headquarters

Interned for the summer with every office in the WSDOT Southwest region headquarters. Was introduced to the basic functions of the state Department of Transportation and learned the roles of different engineers at various stages of a project's life cycle. Learned basic ArcGIS, In-Roads, Project Scheduling, and how to read Construction plans. Attended project meetings with project engineers and area engineers.
