I've represented the interests of a variety of businesses and professionals ranging from sophisticated and established national companies to entrepreneurs, authors, filmmakers, art collectors, and other creative individuals. A central aspect of my practice is the resolution of contractual and business disputes. I regularly advise clients on protecting, enforcing, and commercializing their intellectual property rights. My effective advocacy and problem-solving skills has led me to represent a variety of businesses and governments in a wide and novel range of civil matters.I am a seasoned federal court litigator, having handled cases in federal courts throughout the country including Tennessee, Florida, Texas, California, Illinois, Delaware, Colorado, Wisconsin, and Arkansas. For the last several years, I've developed a significant and successful appellate practice, representing clients before the United States Courts of Appeals for the Sixth and Eleventh Circuits, the Tennessee Supreme Court, the Tennessee Court of Appeals, Florida’s District Courts of Appeal, as well as administrative tribunals such as the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and the Board of Immigration Appeals. As part of a three-attorney team, I successfully petitioned the United States Supreme Court to grant a writ of certiorari leading to the reversal of an adverse decision of a federal court of appeals.As an advocate for my clients, I articulate specialized or technical issues into clear, straightforward, and accessible language.I practiced in South Florida for seven years before joining Lewis Thomason in 2018.

As a commercial litigator, I represent the interests of a variety of businesses and professionals including real estate sales companies, commercial landlords and tenants, multifamily housing service contractors, and e-commerce companies in all aspects of civil litigation in state and federal courts.I have significant experience drafting pleadings, complex and dispositive motions, discovery requests and discovery responses. I have also taken and defended depositions, conducted settlement negotiations, and participated in mediation conferences.I have authored appellate briefs in both state and federal court and presented oral arguments before the Florida Third District Court of Appeal.I have personally appeared in court to argue hundreds of motions and pre-trial matters.

Researched and wrote memoranda of law in the area of commercial litigation (e.g., Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act; federal Fair Labor Standards Act). Assisted attorneys in drafting interrogatories and requests for production.

As an intern, I drafted case summaries containing a recitation of the facts of the crime, the defendant's prior criminal history, and a recommended sentence for review by the prosecuting assistant district attorney. I also assisted prosecutors during arraignment, pre-trial, and trial. Apart from my experience inside the courtroom, I called and spoke with victims and witnesses to acquire additional information in aid of prosecution of the case and, if possible, to obtain restitution.
