After leaving my previous marketing internship at RAW and embarking on my apprenticeship with Colewood, I acquired more of a taste as to the different cultures within different workplaces. Upon securing my role in Colewood, I quickly began to learn a lot more about the digital marketing industry. Within this role I have acquired a range of different skills which are not only essential in the digital industry, but which could also be transferable to a number of different roles. On a day-to-day basis, I use skills learned from working with a range of different departments in order to continue to help grow the business as well as our various projects. I implement SEO, PPC, coding languages as well as using social media marketing to ensure a complete approach to any marketing activities.When working on e-commerce tasks, I often blend my proficiency in language with skills I have learned in coding, such as when I am creating content on websites built for our clients. I have also learnt how to utilise html coding from our development team which I plan on exploring more in-depth over time.Additionally, within the administration side to my role, I am responsible for reporting on our various businesses while tracking and monitoring progress to ensure movement in the right direction. I also often find myself liaising with clients in order to strengthen the offering on our various websites as well as reaching out to new partners and suppliers, building relationships with clients as far away as China.

As this was my first role in a business environment and my first job-like experience, I picked up many different skills during my time at RAW. While working within the company I learned the standards of business etiquette and how to present myself and behave in a business environment, while also learning how to work within a close-knit team. Due to the small size of the business, I was often given the opportunity of dealing with impactful responsibilities, such as event organising - as demonstrated by the International Women's Day event I organised in March 2018 - and liaising with big clients, such as the Department for International Trade. Due to the mission of RAW, which is to deliver digital skills training in order to bridge the current digital skills gap, I learned a lot about the digital marketing industry as well as the many different industries which form this. During this time, I worked with WordPress to create blogs, ran paid social media campaigns on Facebook for training courses we were providing at the time, and also managed the company's Twitter account. I also gained experience using the scheduling tool Hootsuite during this time. On top of this, I somewhat gained an insight into design by using simple graphic design tools such as Canva. The graphics I created on Canva were then used to promote events and digital training courses we were delivering at the time, which I also set up and organised using Eventbrite.
