Reengineer, implement, and manage a hosted VoIP offering based on Asterisk, Kamailio, MySQL, Apache, and Python for a network offering enterprise-grade networking, communications, and cloud solutions to business and carrier customers in 35 markets across 11 Western states. Monitor and maintain NetSapiens softswitch platform.Rebuilt aging softswitch platform from the ground up; rebuilt all servers and configured Audiocodes Mediant 2000 telephony gateways for PSTN access from the VoIP servers. Additionally, rearchitected Kamailio servers, which involved re-engineering the Kamailio dial-plan. Revamped the Asterisk dial-plan to support redundancy between seven Asterisk servers. Initially hired as a contractor at Allstream and performed these tasks autonomously.Served as project lead in the migration of NetSapiens softswitch platform from one data center to another; worked with several teams at the company, including networking team, voice engineering, and the server team as well as the vendor of the softswitch.

Architected, implemented, and managed a hosted VoIP offering based on Asterisk for telecommunications equipment supplier. Built and implemented custom Asterisk solutions for a variety of companies, including Cloud technologies, a cloud hosting provider specializing in cloud hosted services. Built and managed company’s cloud VoIP offering based on Asterisk, A2Billing, Brekeke, and Cisco 2800 routers for PSTN connectivity. Installed and managed PSTN gateways in Sudan and Ethiopia for SusCall, a company specialized in termination of VoIP calls to Africa; also, managed the network between the softswitch and the gateways. Managed SusCalls VoIP billing platform based on the Sysmaster softswitch platform. Provided SIP trunking services to customers running FreePBX. Designed and managed various IP networks. Constructed, instituted, and managed vmWare vSphere cluster on an IBM Bladecenter chassis; built the vmWare cluster for personal consulting business to support various aspects of the company. Performed services to enable all aspects of the network, including maintenance, sustainment of existing networks, and identification/correction of complex internetwork issues. Investigated and resolved software/hardware matters. Answered technical questions and made recommendations for approved courses of action.Constructed and implemented a custom SIP solution for a custom hosted VoIP application, which entailed setting up SIP proxies, session border controllers, and debugging SIP and RTP protocols. Designed and implemented a global VoIP solution using Avaya technology for corporate telephony, resulting in a telephony solution that linked 15+ offices on three continents via MPLS and VoIP technology for seamless VoIP calls between offices; routed all telephone calls through a central location, generating a cost savings.
