Year 1:Worked in the Equipment-Reliability group. Worked in a team with a Preventive Maintenance Right-Sizing Project. Were Preventive Maintenance (PM) strategies were viewed to see if either the criticality, scope, or frequency of PM could be changed. This resulted in an estimated savings of 875 completions per year, which is roughly about 8750 Man-Hours saved. I also went on several walk-downs of the turbine building. Assisted with a flow-rate test on a critical valve. And assisted in the inspection of new nuclear fuel before it was sent to the spent fuel pool.Year 2: Worked in the Reactor Engineering department assisted on sever tasks including peer checking fuel locations for the dry-cast storage campaign, as well as making excel programs to handle in-core detector outputs so that the information could be manipulated and input into a curve sheet that was ready to be signed and sent to operations to help with any power maneuvers. I also updated a Beacon 6 macro that was primarily used to do load swings because the plant was upgrading to Beacon 7 and there was a new output file type that had to be included in the code.
