I am Isaac Shell, a recent computer science graduate from WWU. The beginning of my career is very exciting for me, as I will finally be able to apply the set of skills that I attained from WWU and translate them into the workplace. During my new career, I hope to improve myself as a software developer and expand my technical skillset. Furthermore, I look forward to restarting my personal projects in game development and art so I can begin acting on accumulated ideas. Languages:Mainly C and java, but through my senior project I also taught myself some Javascript and C# for use in Unity. I also have some experience in C++, as it was the first language I delved into. Lastly, I picked up some python and gained enough proficiency in it to build a simple fake news detector. Team Experience:For most school teams, I gravitated towards becoming the leader, or at least a support project manager. I think one large reason for this is my reliability. You can always count on me to communicate vital information for a project in a timely manner, whether it be a response to someone with a question, or a new task schedule to help organize the team. However, regardless of if I was a leader or simply a member, I enjoy helping others. I always offered to lend a hand to those who were struggling, whether it be a random CS student or a fellow classmate. Unfortunately, my goodwill can backfire and cause me to spend late nights to catch up on my own work. Interests:My current focus is centered on preparing myself for creating a video game. It is in early stages of story creation, which is slow-going, so I plan to concurrently expand my skill set. Skills to learn: Blender, HTML, animation, Unreal Engine (for comparison to Unity), and VR (Oculus/Vive). To monitor progress, I already have sub-project ideas in the form of comedic comics and animations. Lastly, I would also like to study machine learning in the future, perhaps as a way of creating game AI.
