I graduated with a BSc Honours in Microbiology with a year placement from Nottingham Univeristy in 2020. My year placement was in the field of zooological science, which allowed me to further explore my passion for animals, whilst still studying Microbiology. The year placement at Newquay zoo was one of the most rewarding expereinces and aided in my development for life after University. At Newquay Zoo, I was named BIAZA Novice speaker 2019 for my presentation on my research into Social Networking in South-East Asian Birds. Since University, my career has been as a Trainee Microbiologist at Eurofins. I work in a Water Microbiology Lab, where I work both individually and as a team. My career develops my strenghts of lab and team work further, and the company trusts in me to deliver the highest quality work. I am also greatly appreciative of Eurofins, as I have undergone training courses where I am constantly learning new techniques/programmes that I am then able to train out to others.One of my biggest strengths is teaching. I have teaching experience in various unique locations such as at horse stables, a zoo, and in a Lab. I love teaching people with different backgrounds and of all ages, and believe teaching to be both fun and rewarding. Wherever I have been through my education and career, I have always got invoved in teaching. My main ideology is that teaching others is the best way to learn new things yourself.
