• Led a cross-functional, multi-team initiative that achieved a zero-downtime migration of the core Upstart web monolithic application from an end-of-life OpenShift platform to a new managed RedHat Kubernetes platform• Developed a concept for just-in-time provisioning and de-provisioning of “ephemeral” development environments, pitched the idea during the 2022 Hackweek, recruited a team, delivered the proof of concept, and based on a successful demo got the initiative approved and delivered in one calendar quarter with several participants of the Hackweek team forming a new squad to support this key capability• Helped build the SRE (site reliability engineering) team by creating an interview guide and interviewing over half of all candidates for the team• Created a comprehensive tuning guide for applications deployed on Kubernetes container platforms• Resolved configuration errors allowing proper autoscaling of primary Ruby-on-Rails monolith, removing request latency issues and application errors during peak loads and saving tens of thousands of dollars per month in AWS billing• Identified transient 401 authentication errors due to session termination caused by Redis connection errors during peak loads and resolved them by increasing cache retries• Identified thread safety issues across multiple applications and started an initiative to make applications thread safe• Implemented a Rails middleware gem to intercept high-cost ad-hoc queries and prevent their execution to resolve performance issues and outages• Introduced nginx sidecars to serve static assets and reduce request load on primary monolithic Ruby-on-Rails application• Identified and resolved a longstanding issue with a core credit reporting microservice that required substantial over-scaling of the service deployment. The resulting deployment was 1/10th its original size with overall higher throughput and lower cost, error rates, and request latency.

Led teams of 3-6 engineers on the following initiatives:-Design and development of Guidewire's next generation multitenant cloud data platform using the AWS Data Lake stack (Lake Formation, S3, Glue, IAM, Athena), Kubernetes, Open Policy Agent, Kafka, Kafka Connect, Amazon Aurora, Elasticsearch, Kibana, and various other AWS and cloud technologies.-Developed a novel multitenant, distributed, containerized data pipeline deployed on Kubernetes, leveraging DynamoDB, Java, Aurora MySQL and Amazon Redshift.

-Acted as a SME and project leader in the transition from Oracle RightNow to Salesforce (Community, Service Cloud)

-Stabilized the Oracle RightNow CRM system previously used by Guidewire's Global Customer Support organization

Managed full lifecycle implementation and integration projects for various clients from small teams of 2-3, to large project teams of over 40 members. Performed hands-on design and implementation of RightNow solutions using a mix of configuration and extensive customizations developed in C# and PHP.

Developed architectural enhancements and extensions for CheckFree's ACH banking software offerings. Built capacity testing environment and managed load testing of core J2EE-based banking application prior to acceptance of the application by Citibank. Tuned every tier of system including Solaris kernel, Oracle database, WebLogic application servers and banking application to achieve required performance levels. Worked with strategic planning group to develop an iterative series of prototypes for a proposed banking BI product.
