Dr. Isaac Y. Addae is an award-winning educator, speaker, and strategist. He serves as Manager of Community Relations in the Nashville Mayor's office, leading engagement with the region's philanthropic, entrepreneurial, and innovation ecosystems. Previously, he was the Chief Strategy Officer of Pivot Technology School (a workforce development firm). For over 10 years, Isaac has taught collegiate courses in business strategy, entrepreneurship, and leadership. His recent roles include the Tennessee State University College of Business and the Vanderbilt University Owen Graduate School of Management.Isaac has a unique skill set and bi-cultural perspective that he leverages as a trusted strategist to C-suite executives facing complex challenges. He is experienced in the public, private, and non-profit sectors, helping executives and organizations achieve desired outcomes through 1) formulating effective strategic plans, 2) improving engagement with relevant customers/stakeholders, and 3) developing organizational cultures that will help them thrive.Isaac is a thought-provoking and engaging speaker and works in organizational and community-based settings on strategy, leadership, and organizational development. Participants state that Isaac provides actionable intelligence and that he inspires them to discover their purpose and drive meaningful change. Isaac caters to the audience’s needs and offers a variety of formats (workshop, lecture series, keynote) to groups of all sizes.Isaac holds more than a decade of experience in technology consulting and systems development across various firms (IBM, Booz Allen Hamilton, CACI, Ford, Raytheon). He completed a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and an M.S. in Systems Engineering at TSU. He also earned a Ph.D. in Business Administration at Morgan State University. In 2024, Isaac was selected as one of 140 leaders to participate in the Harvard Business School Young American Leaders Program, and he is a member of Leadership Nashville's Class of 2025.Isaac is a Board Member of Corner To Corner, Knowledge Bank, Nashville Black Chamber, Nashville Entrepreneur Center, and former Nashville Metro Health and Educational Facilities board chair. He is an Advisory Board Member of the Nashville Chamber International Business Council and serves on the Nashville Innovation Alliance Steering Committee. He is also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. In the Fall of 2021, Isaac released his first book, Black Boy Fly: Embracing My Ancestry, Blackness, and Purpose in the African Diaspora.
