Working alongside the Cultural Arts Consultancy team, we delivered our first project for the Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival, creating a strategic package for approaching corporate sponsorship.

At XTRAX, I assist with marketing and administrative tasks across various projects showcased by the organisation. This includes management of social media accounts, as well as the creation and deliverance of print materials, emails and office templates. In terms of admin, I have a shared responsibility of constructing delegate lists for each showcase, booking travel and accommodation, and providing overall administrative support for various aspects of the business.

During my time at Topman, I was responsible for supervising a team, controlling the shop floor, the mentoring of staff and the management of a department. As well as contributing to the overall store performance and staff morale, I was required to analyse stock reports and identify best sellers.

As an Arena Host, I was the first point of contact for customers to the venue. I was responsible for dealing with risk management, customer issues and concerns, and providing information to guests about the events, or the venue itself. I recorded all incidents and complaints received by customers and reported these to my line manager. The team would then respond to those making a claim or complaint. I was often required to work in the box office, dealing with ticket sales and general enquiries.

As a Project Assistant, I facilitated and assisted with the development of a historical cultural arts project. Through this, I helped train 30 local volunteers aged between 14 and 80 in educational arts-based workshops to help increase confidence, utilising the transferable skills I acquired from my undergraduate degree. In addition, I was responsible for researching and presenting historical documents to deliver knowledge on the scope of the project, and I also helped establish the longevity of the project after my contract had ended.

My role as a Media Consultant equipped me with further knowledge in business management, media, marketing and company administration through an opportunity to work alongside ‘2 Boards and a Passion’ (2BAAP) – a children’s theatre company who required an increase in social awareness through their social media platforms. To accomplish this, I initiated a marketing strategy which could utilise the analytical and statistical data of their social following, in order to assess the most effective way of enhancing interactions with their content. In addition, I created a promotional video to give insight into 2BAAPs ethos, daily routine and future projects. The application of new media tools and platforms were incorporated, such as the use of Bit.ly, Hoot-Suite, Vine, Mail Chimp and Word Press. More importantly, the marketing strategy was designed to be easily functional in my absence when the scheme had ended.

I enhanced the interest of prospective students by discoursing information about the school of Performance and Cultural Industries, where I studied my Theatre and Performance degree. In addition, I responded to enquiries regarding the courses within the school, university life and my overall experience as a student at Leeds. Campus tours were facilitated by myself, where I communicated the course prospects in further detail.

As a youth volunteer, I supported the personal and social needs of young people aged 8-25.While in this post, I encouraged young people to participate in Dance, Drama and Creative Media workshops that I facilitated to boost confidence. Attendance to these sessions during my employment period increased by over 50 percent.In addition, I advertised and introduced youth activities across social media channels and in the local area with stakeholder organisations.

As a Customer Assistant, I was responsible for driving sales, stock replenishment and general support.
