Vodafone Business Marketing Directors OfficeDuring this role, I worked closely with the Marketing Business Manager to deliver projects covering a variety of areas during the functions transition to a new operating structure. These projects required me to perform in depth analysis and generate proposals for topics such as operational process flows, local market engagement and strategic campaign commercial reporting.Key areas of responsibility included being the Marketing Functions specific point of contact and subject matter expert for Business Continuity, creating and documenting a Business Continuity plan that was implemented during the Covid-19 pandemic. Additionally I had the same responsibility for risk and compliance, working closely with the dedicated teams to ensure all relevant policies were adhered to by the Marketing Function.

Vodafone Business Marketing Operations TeamAs a Business Analyst I work as part of the Group Enterprise Digital & Marketing Operations team to deliver programmes and advisory services in alignment with other areas of the team. This is completed through the managing of tools, technology and process change required to support the expansion of digital marketing, maintaining continued improvement.Key areas of responsibility include the compilation, analysis and presentation of high quality requirements and use cases. Working closely with key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring there is clear scope for delivery whilst managing the requirements throughout the lifecycle of key programmes. Additional responsibilities include the day to day management and reporting of the team’s budget, supporting financial planning activities and assisting in the preparation of regular KPI reporting.

The graduate scheme involves rotating through three placements over a two year period. Placements to date have been as follows:1. M2M Marketing Executive – The M2M marketing function is responsible for driving growth helping to achieve 20% Y-o-Y sales growth. During my placement I gained insight into B2B sales operations and into significant industry verticals. Key achievements were refreshing marketing collateral, maintaining the Digital Communications Library and also assisting with various external events. I coordinated nominations for the 2015 Mobile World Congress Awards, in which Vodafone was shortlisted for 3 entries. 2. Business Analyst – Work in the Enterprise Operations area of the business endeavours to deliver continuous improvement to processes whilst reducing costs. Working in this role improved my understanding of Vodafone processes, operating on a global scale. Key achievements in this area were the creation and maintenance of business tools measuring employee time utilisation and travel spending. I was also responsible for running, analysing and reporting the Pulse survey whilst also providing support to the wider team.3. Business Change Analyst – The Channel and Sales Operations team drive best practise across the business channels. Working in this area of the business has increased my awareness of the range of sales channels employed. I worked as part of the team that deployed the Partner Portal Mobile Application in Ireland. This involved learning how to use the content management system, completing user provisioning and local market training. Other areas worked on were training the shared services team to use the content tool, liaising with local markets on business requirements and calculating the impact of the project.

As part of my University course, this placement supported my studies and furthered my education. I completed various projects, gaining an understanding of many different business areas. - Redundant stock project – I was responsible for organising weekly meetings, drawing together staff and resources to resolve issues with redundant stock. I created a tool which identified the redundant stock, resulting in a £300k+ reduction in stock holding value.- Commercial forecasting – I created a tool allowing the Commercial Team to more accurately forecast demand whilst incorporating other commercial KPI’s at the same time. - Returns project – This project involved myself creating a tool that would convert carbon files to digital, allowing deeper analyse and proffering more information.
