Facilitated access to government incentive and empowerment schemes such as the Manufacturing Competitiveness Enhancement Programme (MCEP), Black Business Supplier Development Programme (BBSDP) and Black Industrialist Scheme (BIS). ZAR800 million investment funding for 500 SMEs in South Africa: This was achieved mainly through leveraging Government funding provided through inventive schemes and private capital. As part of the funding were enterprise support services that included mentorship and coaching, training and competitive enhancement interventions.Cooperative Banks Development Agency CFI Support: Provided mentorship and coaching to 5 Cooperative Financial Institutions with a combined asset value of ZAR25 million and a total of 75 board members (average of 15 board members per each corporative). The mentorship programme included providing training to the Board and Board Committees on Strategy Formulation, Policy Development, Supervision, Risk Management, Business Continuity, Governance and Ethics and Financial Management. One of the CFIs, Ziphakamise Co-op Bank, was successfully registered as a Co-operative Bank as a result of the intervention.Department of Trade and Industry South Africa where our team advised the Department on the design of the Black Business Supplier Development Programme (BBSDP), a programme designed to address supply side bottlenecks by providing funding to black owned enterprises.
